02 Days / 01 Night Safari

The 100km long Aberdares are a volcanic range forming the eastern wall of the rift valley. There are two main peaks separated by a long saddle of alpine moorland. The topography is diverse and rugged, with deep ravines cutting through forested slopes, with many clear streams and waterfalls that combine to create an area of great scenic beauty. Ark and Treetops are lodges located within the Park, each at its own forest glade, overlooking floodlit saltlicks and waterholes where forest animals and birds come to drink.

ABERDARES OVERNIGHT SAFARI

Day 01   NAIROBI - ABERDARES

Morning drive north to Central Kenya, past sisal, coffee, horticultural and tea farms to Nyeri. Lunch at Outspan Hotel or Aberdare Country Club. Afternoon, transferred in shuttle bus to nearby Aberdare National Park - to Treetops Lodge or Ark Lodge. Remainder of the day at the Lodge precincts, game viewing from the comfort of numerous decks overlooking a floodlit salt lick / waterhole where animals come to drink and frolick. Dinner and overnight at TREETOPS LODGE / ARK LODGE.

Day 02    ABERDARES - NAIROBI

If at Treetops, you get up early and into the shuttle bus for transfer back to Outspan where breakfast will be served. If at Ark, you will get up early, have breakfast at the Lodge then will be transferred to Aberdare Country Club. On arrival at Outspan or Treetops, you rejoin your safari driver for the return drive to Nairobi, arriving at about noon.
