Uganda is in austere disparity to many other African holiday destinations, as it is well covered in dense forests and waterways.  There are few wildlife experiences that can compare to tracking the closest of primates to Humans, the Mountain Gorillas. The Ugandan forests of Bwindi are home to the rarest and most royal of all the apes, the mountain gorillas.  Join us on this tour and get to feel the gap between ape and human vanish once you look into the eyes of this intelligent, gentle and vulnerable primates.

Day 01

Early morning depart Kampala and commence drive to Mbarara, on good tarmac road. Along the way, stop at the Equator, to see local drum makers and take pictures of the Ankole long-horned Cattle. Dinner and overnight at Regency Lakeview Hotel or similar (total driving time around 6 hours)

 

 Day 02

After an early breakfast, depart for the Mountain Gorilla Sanctuary of Bwindi arriving in time for lunch at the tracking base. Dinner and overnight either at Mgahinga Safari lodge or similar (total driving time around 5 hours)

 

Day 03

After an early morning breakfast, travel to the base of the mountain for a briefing  before starting the gorilla trek. After picnic lunches and drinks in the Bwindi Impenetrable, return to base for dinner and overnight Mgahinga Safari Lodge or similar.

 

The trekking may take anything from 30 minutes to 8 hrs and is quite strenuous - the tracking starts from the area where the Gorillas had been sighted the previous day.

 

OPTIONAL:    Extra night in Bwindi, with an extra day of gorilla tracking

 

Day 04

After breakfast, depart for Mbarara for lunch and afterwards, continue to Kampala. (total driving time around 10 hours)

On arrival, dropped off at your Kampala hotel or at the Airport to take your international departure flight
